 Dear Friends and Neighbors,

We moved to Scott County 32 years ago because of the small town setting near beautiful Prior Lake.  We wanted to raise our children in a place that shared our commitment to family values.  Scott County has been, and continues to be, such a place.

I have a very strong belief in the need to be active within our community.  It is only by involving ourselves that we can make our community an even better place to live.  Over the past three decades I have been actively involved with the:

  • Chamber of Commerce
  • Rotary Club /  D.A.R.E
  • Friends of the Library
  • PL Women of Today / Dollars for Scholars
  • St. Michael’s Church
  • Other volunteer opportunities – Area Schools, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, PLAY, Kids Voting, Future Leaders Day, Historical Society

It has been my honor and privilege to serve you as County Commissioner since January of 1997.  During my tenure, Scott County has become one of the fastest growing counties in the nation.  This rapid rate of growth presents both challenges and opportunities for the County and its residents.  Because of my passion for, and commitment to, county government, I respectfully ask for your support in allowing me to continue to be a strong voice for you, the taxpayers – as an advocate for open and efficient government, fiscally responsible spending, and effective leadership in these challenging economic times.  When I asked for your support in 1996, I felt strongly that some changes were long overdue in Scott County.  All of these changes have now been made.

All of us wear many different “hats” every day, but the one hat that we always wear is that of “citizen.”  Representative democracy works best when people care enough to be informed and get involved in the process.  Please call me with any questions or concerns at (952) 447-5748.

                                                            Sincerely,
                                                            Barbara Marschall
                                                            Scott County Commissioner
